NCIBC instructors are highly trained and experienced ministers from this region. This year’s instructors may include:
Dr. Herbert L. Hiatt – Founder and president. Dr. Hiatt has actively served in the ministry for over twenty years and is currently the executive director of Grace International Ministries and senior pastor of the Plymouth campus. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and attended Oral Roberts University Graduate School of Theology and Huntington College School of Graduate Ministry in preparation for the ministry. Dr. Hiatt received his Doctor of Theology degree from School of Bible Theology Seminary in San Jacinto, California.
Pastor Heath Hiatt – Vice President of Academic Affairs. Pastor Heath is president of Church of the Heartland and the senior pastor of the South Bend campus of Church of the Heartland. He studied at the Living Word Bible Training Center in California under the mentorship of Mark and Linda Turner before returning to Indiana to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from NCIBC.
Dr. Ralph Stutzman – Dr. Stutzman was an elder in Lakeside Family Church in Stevensville, Michigan, for five years and is presently a lay leader in the Church of the Heartland – South Bend. He is an ordained minister through the World Harvest Ministers Network and has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University, Master of Arts degree from Michigan State University, Specialist in Education degree from Wichita State University, and Doctor of Education degree from Oklahoma State University. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Education at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Pastor Sandy Hiatt – Professor. Pastor Sandy Hiatt has been involved in ministry for over twenty years as counselor, teacher, administrator, and pastor’s wife. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from NCIBC and has taught numerous seminars and classes on a wide variety of subjects.
Dr. Steve Swihart – Instructor. Dr. Swihart has been involved in ministry for more than twenty years and served as a Bible professor and dean of a Christian graduate school for nine years. He is currently writing and developing a comprehensive Christian curriculum of twenty-seven books. Dr. Swihart received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of MInistry degrees from Ashland Theological Seminary.
Pastor Michele Howard – Professor. Pastor Michele pastors with her husband, Pastor Jim Howard, at Church of the Heartland – Logansport. A teacher by profession, she received a Bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College and a Master’s Degree from Ball State University. She has been a diligent student of the Word of God, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from NCIBC and is now sharing her Bible knowledge with its students. Michele is missions director of Church of the Heartland’s Project A 1:8.
Pastor Jim Howard – Professor. Pastor Jim is currently the senior pastor of the Church of the Heartland – Logansport. He has over ten years of experience as a youth pastor and deacon prior to the founding of the Logansport campus. An experienced minister and Bible teacher, he has a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from NCIBC.
Pastor John Duhnovsky – Professor. Pastor John is currently the campus pastor at Church of the Heartland – Winamac. He and his wife, Debbie, have conducted many marriage and family classes and seminars. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from NCIBC.
Pastor Shawn Duhnovsky – Professor. Pastor Shawn is the campus pastor for the Church of the Heartland – Starke County and has numerous years of experience as a youth pastor.
Pastor Christopher Peddie – Instructor. Pastor Chris is the founding pastor of Lakeside Family Church in Stevensville, Michigan. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University and attended two years at World Harvest Bible School in Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Chris has a Master of Ministry degree from Indiana Christian University.
Tim and Doris Goode – Instructors. Mr. and Mrs. Goode are licensed social workers and therapists and have been in private practice as counselors since 1988. They both earned graduate degrees in counseling from the University of Notre Dame and are ordained through the World Harvest Ministers Network. Together they teach the Advanced Counseling course for NCIBC.
